Our lesson programme follows the Scottish Swimming Learn To Swim syllabus. This Learn to Swim programme has been developed by the national governing body of swimming in Scotland: the Scottish Amateur Swimming Association.

The pre-competitive & competitive swimming classes’ levels of Bronze/Silver/Gold/Arion Aquatics have been developed by Olympic coach Gary Vandermeulen. These classes will assist swimmers become much more proficient in all the strokes they have been taught in their lesson programme, and continue to take steps towards becoming excellent swimmers. The competitive swimming class will introduce swimmers to test sets which will ensure they have a training programme which covers all energy systems. This will ensure each athlete who competes in a multitude of swimming events will have the ability to race to an extremely high standard at all distances and strokes.

Our instructors at Sheppard Swim School have been selected by owners: Alison Sheppard MBE and Gary Vandermeulen. Each instructor will have completed an Enhanced Disclosure Scotland check that applies specifically to working with vulnerable groups such as children. We adhere to the Pool Safety Operating Procedures and Emergency Action Plans of each pool we work at.

A summary of the programme has been provided in this table:
